Visa - Get In The Game

The Brief

The Olympics and Paralympics are incredibly important to Visa as the exclusive payment technology sponsor of the games.

In line with Visa’s new positioning, ‘Power of Small Steps’, the agency was tasked with leveraging Visa’s sponsorship of the summer Olympics to promote its cross-border payment solutions and reward customers in Nigeria and Ghana with a trip to experience the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The Execution

Being a digital-led campaign, we launched our message – GET IN THE GAMES across social media channels with a video featuring Team Visa Nigeria athlete, Tobi Amusan, taking small steps in preparation for the games while showcasing the ease, speed, and reliability of Visa Dollar card for online payments. This was backed up by visuals and digital banners to build excitement around the Paris summer experience, drive awareness of the Olympics trip competition, and encourage participation among our target audience.

In the spirit of the Olympics, we also took the excitement to Visa’s partner banks. We got bank staff in the game with the MVP (Most Valuable Player) challenge, igniting their competitive spirit and encouraging them to go for the win and get rewarded through the issuance of Visa Dollar cards to customers.

Result

The campaign became a top trending Olympics topic in Nigeria and Ghana, gathering significant impressions on our social media channels. It also led to increased usage of Visa Dollar cards for cross-border payments.
